Do You Suffer From Flat Feet or High Arches?
Biomechanics is the term used to describe movement within the body. The human ankle and foot has the difficult task of efficiently transferring forces from the ground, to the foot, to the leg – and it uses a complex arrangement of joints to accomplish this.
Each foot, just like our fingerprint, is unique. Some people have ‘flat feet’ – when there is little or no arch under the foot (pronation). Others have ‘high arches’, with a pronounced gap evident between the inside of their foot and the ground (supination).
Abnormal amounts of pronation or supination can cause a variety of foot and leg problems. If your feet are sore, it may be due to the biomechanics of your foot!
